The 6th Regional Symposium on Landslides in the Adriatic-Balkan Region ReSyLAB

It is our great pleasure to announce that the 6th ReSyLAB will take place in Belgrade in May 15-18, 2024.

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we cordially invite you to take part and contribute to the Symposium by sharing your research with a broad engineering geological and geotechnical community throughout the Adriatic-Balkan Region.

Brief History of ReSyLAB

The 1st ReSyLAB was held in March 2013 in Zagreb (Croatia), the 2nd in May 2015 in Belgrade (Serbia), the 3rd in October 2017 in Ljubljana (Slovenia), the 4th in October 2019 in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and 5th on March 23rd in Rijeka (Croatia) all under auspices of International Consortium on Landslides.

ICL ABN

The Adriatic-Balkan Network of the International Consortium on Landslides (ICL ABN) was established in January 2012 as one of eight regional and thematic networks of ICL to promote landslide science in the region.

The members of the ICL ABN are dedicated to organizing a bi-annual regional symposium entitled Regional Symposium on Landslides in the Adriatic-Balkan Region (ReSyLAB), to strengthen the cooperation of the ICL.

ABN members gather scientists, researchers, engineers, professionals, and decision-makers, from the region and beyond, concerned with landslide hazards and risks, their reduction, and their impact on society.

Symposium activities

The 6th Regional Symposium on Landslides in the Adriatic–Balkan Region (ReSyLAB) will be held for the second time in Belgrade, Serbia, on May 15-18th 2024, at the University of Belgrade - Faculty of Mining and Geology, exactly 10 years after Cyclone Tamara heavily hit the Western Balkans and caused numerous damages from landslides across the region.

May 15th 2024. – Workshops, Opening Ceremony, Presentation sessions
May 16th 2024. – Presentation sessions
May 17th 2024. – Presentation sessions, Round Table Discussions, ICL-IPL Board Meetings, Photo Exhibition
May 18th 2024. – Closing ceremony, Field Trip “PODUNAVLJE - Frontiers of the Roman Empire – The Danube Limes in Serbia”

Each Session will be opened by the Keynote Speaker and followed up by the Invited Lecturer.

Symposium activities will also include poster sections, an awarded landslide photo exhibition, and roundtable discussions on actual landslide topics including the ongoing AI revolution. The official language of the Symposium is English.

Workshops and Field trip

Workshops will be held on May 15th 2024. in the morning. The number of participants will be limited. You are invited to register for it according to the deadlines.

Field trip “PODUNAVLJE - Frontiers of the Roman Empire – The Danube Limes in Serbia” will be held on May 18th 2024. Please, express your interest in it promptly. The number of participants is limited to 50 and will not be expandable.
